The Fridge: Episode 5
Welcome back to the Fridge! We haven't had the time to sit down and talk in the fridge as much as we used to (although we sometimes pop in for some cool air as its getting much warmer outside) Lately, it's been a lot of in-and-outs as we have some really big things coming soon, which has also meant that we have been in much need of some outside help.
As most of you know, we have closed our pickup locations down to be able to streamline our dumplings more efficiently. To continue delivering our dumplings to all of you beautiful people, we had to come up with a better plan to send them to you all. That's when we decided to partner with our friends at Planzer. You must have seen these beautiful retro-vibe delivery trucks all around town (and if you haven't before, you will start to notice them everywhere now). Next time you see them on the streets, just know that yours or someone else's dumplings could be in there. Planzer is a super cool company to partner up with, not only because they are always on time (Swiss time *hint hint*) but also because we are on such a similar wavelength.
You see… Planzer and Madame Sum just work. Planzer is a family business at its core, with three generations that have carried on their strong values of sustainability. Be it through their delivery methods or with their employees, they ensure that all of their staff are well motivated and enjoy working there, much like at Madame Sum.
We are both Swiss companies that aim to satisfy their customer base by delivering their packages as soon as possible in the best way possible. Our core values are to ensure personal relationships with our customers stay as tight and close-knit as ever. Meeting our clients and making sure they had a good exchange with one of our people is the most crucial aspect as that is the only direct form of contact we have with them. Our personal touch really differentiates us from others, what allows us to grow as a brand, and what really makes us us. Finally, at Madame Sum and Planzer, we both value change and innovation, which is why we are constantly evolving to be the best we possibly can be.
Although the delivery aspect of the product that one orders may not seem like such an important detail, when you deliver a product that you value so highly, and one that is frozen, it can make or break the customer experience.
We have implemented a way to deliver to all of our clients via Planzer by having dry ice placed inside our boxes, allowing the dumplings to stay frozen for at least 48 hours. This means that the dumplings package can stay outside of your house or by your mailbox for quite some time and prevent them from going bad or melting. Then one of Planzer's fantastic drivers will pick up the box, take it to their headquarters and get ready to ship them out to you all.

After all, I think it's a pretty cool system we have in place with Planzer, and I think it's pretty cool that we get to work together with such a great company and one that we really click with. It is always nice to see companies share the same values and motivations to ensure that everything is done perfectly.
At the end of the day, we have to thank you for allowing us to work with companies like this because none of this would have been able to come true without you.
