You know how we have been saying that we’ve been super busy lately? Yeah well, finally you know part of the reason!
Planted. Oh Planted.
We partnered up with Planted and launched three new flavour bomb plant based dumplings!
It has been a long road but I think we have finally created three recipes we are truly proud of and that we are so excited for you to try. I am not kidding when I say that everyone in our kitchen that has tried these dumplings, liked them. We often eat them for staff lunches actually and we have also just been using Planted in general to try and reduce the amount of meat we consume.
It’s hard in cases like this to truly reduce the amount of meat we consume, especially since we produce dumplings containing meat, but it’s about the steps that we can take to get closer to making the world a bit better.
We have been dreaming about this partnership for a while now, and now that it is finally here we cannot wait for you to try them.
So what the hell is Planted, and why is it such a big deal?
Planted is a super cool company that produces delicious plant-based meat. Their mission is to raise awareness about the meat industry and to offer delicious alternatives to protect our planet. Their plant-based meats are clean label and made out of plant based proteins, with vitamin B and water. Together with their food scientists they managed to create a combination of those ingredients that form fibres with the same feel and texture that you expect from meat without the waste. Each fibre is tailor made to the physical and chemical properties that the meat would have from salmon to beef. With the help of their sophisticated process technology, they have been able to recreate the textures and the flavours of fish, chicken, pork and beef almost perfectly.
So why is it such a big deal? Well because you get to eat your favorite meats, without the guilt, without the waste and without the harm. Sure it will never be meat, but it is pretty damn close. This is why we believe that its a great way for us and you to reduce your meat consumption while also being able to enjoy your favourite foods, such as dumplings.
Each of our dumplings have been tested, tested again, and tested a third time again, to ensure that they taste as good as they look and as good or better than you would expect. Pau, Peter and Patrick (the three P’s as I like to call them) have tested so many recipes with many different fillings and narrowed it down to 3 delicious flavour bomb dumplings.
The Planted chicken which is a super juicy blend of oyster mushrooms, caramelised onions and planted, with an umami boost from the mushrooms allowing it to stay juicy inside.
The planted Pork which is your favorite pulled pork dumplings but plant based and I promise you, you will love it like this too.
And finally the Planted Kebab, which is basically your go-to kebab but with a heightened flavour profile from the roasted bell peppers, spices and fresh herbs.
Honestly we are so happy to work with Planted because its rare to find another company that matches us so well. Individually we both have goals to to make the world a better place one pea and one dumpling at a time, but together we now get to make those goals a reality. MADAME SUM PLANTED EDITION, three entirely plant based dumplings, making the world a bite better, bite by bite.
