WHAT MAKES A GYOZA A GYOZA?
Have you ever asked yourself who had the genius to invent gyozas? Famous for their delicious flavours, Gyozas have an equally diverse and intriguing history. During the 19th century, Chinese immigrants from the Shandong region, brought their culinary traditions and flavors to Japan. Along with their cultural influence came the beloved "jiaozi", which gradually evolved into what we commonly call "gyoza".
Through dynasties and centuries, gyozas have evolved, adapted, and woven themselves into the culinary fabric of both nations.
Their crispy skin so delicate and essential at the same time makes the beauty of these flavoured bites. Don't hesitate to refer to the "How to get it right" section for a perfectly crisp cooking. They will completely crack you up !
Our Madame Sum edition pay homage to this remarkable heritage with a modern twist, inviting you to savor each bite with a nod to the past and a taste of the future.
